How do i install the gears?
To install, simply slide the gear ring over your lens’s focus ring until it’s snug. If the fit feels too tight, pushing in small steps in alternating direction (180 degrees apart) will help you slide the gear on.
Neither the Regular, or HardStop gears require any specific orientation or alligment.
What are HardStop gears, and who are they for?
HardStop gears include built-in endpoints to create a defined focus range that's perfectly calibrated to the lense's focus throw — perfect for lenses without physical stops. They’re especially helpful when pulling focus manually or using advanced LiDAR autofocus systems, as they allow for precise and repeatable focusing with no overshoot.
What if you don’t have a gear for my lens?
No worries! We offer tailor-made gears which can be made for nearly any lens. All you need to do is measure the diameter and height of your lens focus / zoom rings and order them here.
Will these gears damage my lens? Can i remove them?
Not at all. Each gear is designed to fit firmly but gently around the focus ring. With proper installation and removal there's no risk of demage to your lens, and if at any point you need to remove them, its simple.
What follow-focus sytems are they compatible with?
All our gears feature industry standard mod 0.8 gearing, making them compatible with the majority of follow-focus units, whether manual or motorized.
